Drowning the Sorrows Away (Zack)

Zack, in his drunken state of mind, felt that this was the greatest feeling he had ever felt. Ever. It was now on this joy, rather than on Roxanna.

Even later, there soon became fish in the oceans, then the first land animals, then dinosaurs, and, after they were extinct, eventually there came to be the homo sapiens. These creatures evolved even later, into the humans we know today -- homo sapien sapien.

Zack guessed this pleasure must have been comparable to that of the big bang. Oh, this was the best, simply the best...

Zack's body, going down with Grayson's soon went to sleep like her, with his last thoughts, being poorly formed in his head, said 'Sex is pretty good'. He had a dreamless sleep, something he needed for the events to come.

Ventus considered himself a good friend. If his brother, Zack, said he had a date at nine, and then said he would meet him in the cabin to talk about it later, and he didn't, Ven would have searched the whole damn camp until he found his close friend.

And so he did. Starting from 10:00 PM 'till now -- sometime during the morning, as the sun was starting to come up, but wasn't fully up -- he had been searching for his friend. Ventus was lucky he was very energetic, because he was very tired now, but his mind was so determined it hardly focused on the exhaustion he would feel. His face showed his lack of energy, having bags under his eyes, but his gray eyes were still as lively as ever.

His black hair flowed, as Ventus jumped across the trees of the forest, his air helping him as he made great leaps from the branches, looking for wherever Zack would be.

And then, a glimmer of hope. Was that a fire? Ventus leaped to get a closer look, though he wished he didn't.

Rum bottles. Clothes, including some clothes Zack had been wearing, and clothes the he had not been wearing. And as it drove the final nail into this casket, Zack's naked body next to a girl's. Ventus wished he had never saw such a site. He could easily guess what had went on -- Zack, being a person who had clinical depression, went out in the forest to, most likely, calm himself from his depression. Somehow the girl came into the show, with drinks or something, and they drank. And then they had sex.

Zack wouldn't have drank in his right mind. And that was the problem. He didn't drink in his right mind. Ven remembered Zack vowed not to drink specifically because of his depression. You can imagine, then, the amount of pain Ventus felt for Zack, and even the girl. Ventus had -- and still did -- trusted Zack with his life. It was just one wrong move Zack made that sent him in this situation.

Ventus, knowing Zack well, knew that the moment that boy woke up and wasn't drunk, he would be sent into a fury. A Zack fury, if you will. Zack would lose control of himself and attack anything and everything, including Ventus himself.

"Dear gods," He muttered under his breath, as he flew down to the fire. Grabbing the girl's clothes, he tossed them to her body. With a good amount of concentration, he made a liter of water form in the air, and made sure to only splash it in the girl's face, knowing it would wake her up. He knelt over her.

"Look, I don't care what happened, but you need to get out of here, now." He said very seriously. He did care what happened, for both of their safety, being the guy he was.

"When he wakes up he'll go berserk. I don't want him to kill you. Please, go." He told her, urgently.

Grayson woke up with a splash of water in her face. Slowly sitting up, Grayson looked around at some guy. Instantly afraid, she covered her breasts up sharpish. "Shit," she whispered and got changed. "Shit shit shit. My boyfriend will murder me... Oh what did I do?"

After murmuring furiously at herself, she got to her feet and ran from the forest and toward the Norse cabin where she knew she'd have to explain to Zayden where she had been all night.

Ventus shook his head in a saddened type of way as she ran off. It was not out of disapproval that he did so, no, but out of the consequences. He knew Zack...and Zack wasn't the most stable of minds when it came to this. Zack would be angry at himself that he drank, which was probably angry enough to make him savage, but even more so that he slept with another...oh, this was going to be bad. Ventus guessed he would have to be Zack's therapist or something for a while. The girl, on the other hand, Ven knew nothing about, other than she was drunk also and slept with Zack, and then her boyfriend...

Ventus wished her luck. Turning to the slowly breathing body of Zack, Ventus stroked his chin. What should he do? Leave him there and let him wake up to his own rage, bring him back to the Zeus cabin? No...he would destroy the Zeus cabin. Well, first things first -- he needed to be clothed.

Grabbing Zack's clothes (all of which smelled of rum) he slowly managed to place them back on him, making sure not to wake him. He must have passed out, because Zack was a light sleeper; it didn't take much to wake him.

Ven brought his hands together. Leave him there? Well...it probably was the best thing to do. Turning around, Ventus walked slowly to a tree, attempting to get on it and watch Zack from there.

Key word being attempting. He forgot to watch where he was walking on the floor of the forest, and stepped on a thin branch, making it crack loudly. Ventus froze as he turned around to look at Zack, who looked to be waking up...

There was a distinct crack and Zack was brought to his somewhat numbed senses. Everything felt hazy in his mind, like there was a fog over a large city. He moved his hands to his eyes, rubbing them, but a smell entered his nostrils.

Rum. And just like that, there was a replay of everything that happened the night before, from his date with Roxanna, to walking through the forest, depressed, to meeting Grayson...to drinking...to having sex with her...

Zack, his intellect greeting him with a 'ha, I told you so' immediatley regretted everything. Why the hell had he been drinking? Why the fuck had he not been smarter? Zack's breath rate became quicker, as his face crumpled in anger. Gods damn it! He had JUST had a date with Roxanna, and how he wouldn't have sex before he was married! How could he have been this fucking stupid?

Anger surged through the body of Zack, as he turned around to face his friend: Ventus. But, unfortunately, there wasn't any stopping him now. Zack's concious mind once again faded, leaving just a dream like state as he stood up to Ven, huffing like a bull.

"Easy, Zack, easy there..." Ventus muttered as he saw Zack with an infinite amount of anger in his eyes. There was no point in running now. Zack would hunt him down. There was only one thing that was lucky for Ven, and that was he was resistant to electricity, meaning Zack couldn't kill him with that method.

Immediately, like a bell starting up a boxing match, Zack lunged at Ventus like an animal. Ventus was not prepared for this and was knocked to the ground, Zack's fists banging at face.

"Enough!" Ventus said, as he used the wind to get Zack off of him, feeling his nose bloody. Ventus managed to stand up, but Zack had used his wind powers to break free of Vens. Again, he lunged at Zack, but Ventus was ready.

He moved out of the way, Zack missing, but he made contact with the ground he did a full turn and ran at Ventus, both of his fists balled up. Throwing a fist at Ven, Ventus grabbed it with his left hand, and then another fist was thrown, Ventus grabbing that in his right. And then Zack kneed Ventus in the chest, knocking the air out of him and making him bend over, and then there was a gorilla smash at his back, and Ventus again fell down.

Ventus was telling the truth when he said Zack was one of the best fighters -- if not the best fighter in camp. He was brilliant with dual wielding, Ventus would say he'd even mastered it. There was something Zack's anger did to him, though, that made him an even better fighter than he was normally. Ventus was just thankful Zack didn't have his two swords right now, or else he would have been killed already.

Ventus rolled out of the way, dodging a stomp at his spine. He was already tired before he found Zack, and now that he was being beat harder than a drum used in a heavy metal band, he just wanted to quit. But he didn't want to die, no no no, most certainly after he just met Hallow. How long did Zack stay in this form? 10 minutes? And what, only about two have passed?

Getting back up again quickly, and Zack running at him, Ventus threw a punch of his own, connecting to Zack's upper right chest. Zack absorbed the blow, though he sent a hard side kick at Ven. Ventus was feeling his fighting brain starting to run (thankfully) and took the leg and threw Zack to the ground. All Ventus wanted to do was sedate him, or pin him down or something -- he jumped on Zack, or atleast tried -- for Zack used a burst of air at the moment Ventus jumped up, and was slammed against a tree.

Ventus was feeling very beat. His face was in pain, and so was his back and stomach -- he couldn't be doing this much longer, or he would, in fact, die. New adrenaline coursing through his veins, he flew over to Zack, the air crackling around him with electricity, and making sure to block any blast Zack might have thrown at him, he shot two lightning bolts at his friend. Zack absorbed them; being a son of Zeus, he was resistant to lightning also. But Ven knew that already, and just wanted to keep Zack occupied.

He send a mid-air kick at Zack, aiming for his chest, and fortunately it connected, knocking him to the floor. But Zack had not just taken the kick, oh no, he managed to elbow Ventus's leg, or rather, his lower leg, and there was a sickening crack. Ventus knew Zack had just broken his leg, but it seemed his body was doing it's job and making sure he wasn't feeling the pain. He still pinned Zack on the floor, using the wind also to his aid.

Panting, Ventus managed to keep Zack there for a good four minutes, with Zack squirming so much he could've been called a worm. Zack was trying every way to get up and beat Ventus some more, but Ventus was using every last of his energy to keep Zack down to the floor, with his wind and his weight. On the fourth minute, though, when Ventus neglected to make sure his face was away from Zack's, Zack sent a powerful head but to his skull. Ventus clutched his forehead, but used his wind to get him out of range of Zack, narrowly missing a hard jab to his face again.

Only one more minute, Ventus kept telling himself in his mind, trying with the little strength he had left to keep himself from being killed by his friend. Only one minute...

Zack lunged at Ventus, and Ven was ready, he sent Zack flying at a tree, hitting his back. Unfortunately, there wasn't much energy in Ventus left, and he was having trouble pinning his out of control friend down. Zack fell down on the floor, running at Ventus. Ventus sent a punch to his stomach, though missing and hitting his upper chest instead. Zack took the blow, backing up a bit, and then swiped at Ventus with his legs. Ventus jumped -- then feeling a searing pain in his right leg, and using the air to bring him up to dodge the sweep. Ventus landed on the ground with his left leg, and sent a strong punch to Zack's face, hoping for a connection--

Zack grabbed Ventus's arm, and then threw a solid punch at Ven's face, then another, and right when Ventus was ready to block another, Zack sent a kick at the stomach of Ven, Ventus hunching over, and then reciving a knee to his upper chest -- Ventus was going to die --

Just as suddenly as it started, the fight stopped. Ventus, very painfully looked. Zack had passed out. Passed out because of exhaustion. Painfully, Ventus say down next to the body of Zack, feeling bruises everywhere and a broken right bottom leg, and ready to pass out himself.

Zack's eyes opened for a second time. He felt very weak, though very angry at himself. He couldn't remember why for a moment, and in a flashback, he remembered why. Looking up, he noticed his friend, Ventus, having a bloody nose and lip, and a makeshift splint out of a stick on his right leg. He looked to be in a considerable amount of pain.

"Zack?" Ventus asked weakly.

Zack refused to answer. He knew what he did. He was the one who beat Ventus up. Zacked closed his eyes and shook his head, tears starting to stream out of his eyes. Ventus stayed quiet for a moment.

"Zack, it's all right. You're fine, and that's what matters to me," Ventus said soothingly. But Zack shook his head, more tears coming down, and he started to sob.

"I fucked up." Zack simply said between his crying. "And quite litterally too," He said, and cried even more. Ventus scooted over to Zack, and put an arm around his shoulders (slowly; it looked very painful for Ven to do so), trying to comfort his friend.

"There, there," He hushed him.

"I came back from the date depressed, came into the forest, met...met..." He said, and sobbed a bit harder. "I met Gray. She convinced me to drink...and I guess we got so drunk we had sex," Zack said, almost incomprehensibly.

"And now I beat up you! Ventus, why are you still here?" Zack cried.

"I'm your friend. I care for you." Ventus patted him on his back. "C'mon, lets head back to the Zeus cabin. We both need to clean up. Help me up; you broke my leg. No offence," Ventus said, rubbing Zack's back. The air around Ventus got cold, though. He was very sad for his friend, and his predicament. Zack, through his tears, helped Ventus up and they stood up, slowly hobbling to the Zeus cabin, tears falling from Zack all the way, his face crunched up, making his normally handsome face ugly.

Ventus knew the girl, and Zack's reason why. But he felt that this wasn't his business to tell. If Zack wanted to lie, it was his choice, not Ven's. Ventus wiped some of the blood on his face off with the back of his hand, looking at Zack, who seemed to have infinite misery and sadness in his blue eyes. The air went even colder around Ventus, as he was deeply saddened by his broken friend.

Zack stared silently at the ground, making sure to avoid the eye contact with the enraged Roxanna. Should he tell her? What was the point in doing so anyway? Was Zack expecting to be welcome back? No, of course not, Roxanna had a good reason to feel betrayed by him, the heathen he was...

WHY? Why did he have to fuck up so bad that they needed to invent a whole new scale to classify the amount of idiocy he made? The air crackled around Zack, visible electricity started to appear around him, a wind started to ruffle everyone's hair--

"Zack, calm down," Ventus told Zack soothingly, as the wind stopped moving and the electricity ceased. More tears streamed down Zack's face.

Should he tell her the girl's name? What difference would it make? Maybe Rox would fight Gray...no, that wouldn't be right. Grayson probably felt just as bad as he did...but Zack wasn't one to lie.

"Grayson, daughter of Freya." Zack spoke quietly. "Just...if you're angry, fight me instead." He added, not wanting Grayson to get the blunt of the blow. What was her problem again? Oh yes, her boyfriend wanted her, but she was fearful, just as Zack was, about sex.

His mind went to examining the second question Roxanna posed. Why? Well...

"I did it because I was depressed," He finished, still avoiding Roxanna's eyes like they were Medusa's.

Ventus also looked at the floor as Zack explained himself. To be honest, Ventus thought Zack was too depressed to even consider speaking more than he did to him. Looking up, he turned to Roxanna's face, feeling there was something else that needed to be cleared up.

"Zack has clinical depression. It isn't his fault he gets like that," He told her, his voice serious.

Ventus looked at Zack, who was looking at the floor like it would go away if he turned to anyone. Ventus didn't remember the part of the story where they did use protection...ugh, Zack was in for a hard time...

Zack wished he had his swords with him, so they could be useful and help kill him. No...they didn't use any protection... he brought in a breath.

"No," He stated, feeling more miserable than he had ever been in his entire life.
