I hear you've got your troubles, or so I've been told,
Maybe just a couple but I'm not quite sold.
I'm indifferent to the difference between tomorrow and today,
Less an indiscretion than a lesson I've been paid.
And the stages of recovery can signify your age,
Like rings around a stump.
Oh, that's something I know a little bit about, child.
Lately, it's been getting a little bit crazy,
I don't wanna be complaining.
st. fishy's asylum 1zbf3nm

Full Name: Taleis's full name is Taleisin Emmett Heap the Fourth.
Nicknames: He prefers to go by Taleis. Unknown to Taleis, many of the girls who he had been with call him Sin behind his back as they plot his demise.
Age: Taleis is seventeen years of age.
Years At Camp: Taleis has been at camp for two years.

Height: Taleis stands at a fairly average height of five feet and nine inches. Taleis's father considered this to be a bit odd, seeing as he was taller, but he just put it off as something he got from his mother.
Hair: Taleis has curly brown hair, that naturally has a messy look to it. The fact that he doesn't always remember to brush it probably doesn't help all that much, but he doesn't mind. Probably because, for one reason or another, many girls seem to think it's attractive. Taleis, on the other hand, is almost always annoyed by his hair because it's impossible for him to get it tidy when it needs to be. When it actually cooperates, he likes his hair. He just hates it the rest if the time.
Eyes: Taleis's eyes are sometimes a soft green colour, sometimes a striking emerald, and they get this oddly clear look when the light hits them a special way. There's something about his eyes that seems to make people want to talk to him, which might be due to the fact that his eyes often have a sad look to them. Even when he's laughing, his eyes tend to looks sad. Taleis isn't sure why this is, but he knows that he doesn't feel sad most of the time.
Body Type: Taleis has a slightly muscular build. He's not so muscular that it's really noticeable, but if he doesn't have a shirt on or something, it is noticeable.
Distinct Markings: Taleis doesn't really have any distinct markings.
Style: Taleis's style is basically what you would see any normal teenager wearing, if not a little bit more dressy at times. Occasionally, he'll wear a blazer to make his outfits look a bit fancier, but he usually wears jeans and a t shirt like any other guy. Sometimes he can be found wearing a pretty dorky looking onesie, and he is aware of how dorky he looks with it on, but he tends to not really care.

God Parent: Melinoe - Taleis's mother is Melinoe, the Greek goddess of ghosts. Once, while Melinoe was wandering the Earth, she saw a man all alone. He had a look of sadness but, most of all, there was a look of death to him. This intrigued Melinoe, so she decided to see why the man had this look of death.

She had never meant to be spotted or recognized, but the man, who's name turned out to be Taleisin Emmett Heap the Third, did start to recognize the little signs of her. Every day, he would see how many signs of his stalker he could see. He treated it like a game, as if he didn't exactly care. That was one of the many things that caught Melinoe's attention, until, one day, she disguised herself as a mortal to see if there was a way she could actually get to know the man.

It was actually fairly easy for Melinoe to do it, seeing as Taleis's father trusted people easily. Neither of them had been looking for a relationship, but that was what they got. Melinoe never knew why one day she just felt attracted to Taleis's father in a way she hadn't before, but he appeared to have the same feelings. They had an affair, although it was short lived, for Melinoe's feelings for the man evaporated soon after she had started to have them.

Then she found out she was expecting a child. This was not part of her plan, but she knew who the father was. As soon as she gave birth to her son (Taleis), she left him in his father's house, along with a not that read, 'This is your child, not mine. I will not raise him.' After that, Melinoe dropped out of their lives completely.
Mortal Family:
    Father:
    • Talesin Emmett Heap the Third - Taleis's father is named Taleisin Emmett Heap the Third, as it was a tradition to name the first child Taleisin Emmett Heap, if the first child is a boy. The way that Taleisin met Melinoe was simple, really. Melinoe disguised herself as someone who had just moved into the neighbourhood. Taleisin, of course, didn't know that it was just a disguise, and he befriended her.

Now, unknowingly, Taleisin had angered Aphrodite. Taleisin taught mythology at the local college, and he would often tell his first wife (who died :C) that she was more beautiful than Aphrodite herself. When Melinoe befriended Taleisin, only meaning to befriend him, Aphrodite made both of them fall in love. After a while, she made Melinoe fall out of love, while Taleisin was still in love with her. Melinoe abruptly left, wondering what it was that made her attracted to Taleisin in the first place, while Taleisin was left to mourn the loss of his lover.

Nine months later, Taleisin came home from work to find a baby crying on the kitchen counter. There was a note that read, 'This is your child, not mine. I will not raise him.' That was how he knew it was from his lover, and, while he didn't feel like he had the time or money to raise a child, he did it anyways. He came up with a bunch of lies for why he had the baby all of a sudden, but everyone believed him for some reason.

Several years later, Taleisin was desperate. He didn't have much money, and he had already done everything he could think of, so he attempted to rob a bank. Several people were injured, and one person was killed. Taleisin was arrested with a sentence of twenty years.

Taleis, of course, never heard of this. He only knew his father did some bad things because he was desperate, and he never did anything to find out.

      Grandfather
      • Taleisin Emmett Heap the Second - After Taleisin was arrested, Taleis's grandfather and grandmother took him in. Nether were especially happy about it, but they weren't going to leave Taleis to some orphanage or something.

Taleis referred to his grandfather as the 'Heap of Sins.' His grandfather was just one big ball of bitter, who didn't care for many people. Taleis secretly blamed his grandfather for his father going to jail, because his grandfather seemed like he didn't even care for his own son. In fact, Taleis was sure he could trace all of his problems back to his grandfather, he was so bitter.

      Grandmother
      • Delanie Meredith Heap - Taleis's grandmother warmed to him slightly more than his grandfather, but it was still noticeable that she didn't really want Taleis to be there. Whereas Taleis's grandfather often would bluntly state his displeasure in Taleis being there, Dalenie would squirm when he asked. Taleis did often ask if they even wanted him there, seeing as they fought often. Delanie would often shift around in her seat for a few moments before saying, "It's not that we don't want you here, honey, it's more like we're slightly inconvenienced at your being here," or something equally dumb that just exaggerated that they didn't want him more than they tried to.

Date of Birth: Taleis was born on November seventeenth, 1994.

    Powers:
    • He can summon ghosts - One of Taleis's powers is that he has the ability to summon ghosts. In order for this to work, he has to do a ceremony not too unlike the one that Nico performs in The Battle of the Labyrinth, except it takes much more energy for Taleis to perform it, seeing as he isn't as strong a demigod as Nico. Just like with Nico, Taleis needs to fill a six foot deep hole with food and drinks as offerings for the dead. Then he must chant in ancient Greek for a few minutes until the ghosts start to appear. Unfortunately, Taleis doesn't have full control over the spirits when he summons them, which is why he doesn't use this power all the often. He has control over the spirits for about ten minutes until he can no longer hold them and they leave. He can use this power about three times a week, at most.
    • He can act as a medium - This power comes much easier to Taleis that summoning ghosts. This power lets him work as a medium between the living world and the underworld, allowing spirits to (kind of) possess his body for a bit, giving him messages that the deceased want to give to the living. There are only two ways this power can be accessed. The first way is if someone comes to him wanting to speak to someone who is deceased, and the deceased person is willing to speak to the living person. This power is easier than the other option, and he can hold it for fifteen to twenty minutes. The second way he can do it would be that a spirit in the area wants to speak to someone, so it forces itself into Taleis's body. This time it can be heald for a certain amount of time depending on how much determination the ghost has to stay there. Once the ghost leaves his body, it leaves him exhausted, and he cannot use the power until ten hours have passed, meaning he could to it about two times a day. The second way he can do it causes him to become far more tired because, well, having a ghost try and shove itself into your body isn't pleasant, and he often tries to fight the ghost so it doesn't take control over him. The spirits can only take control over his mouth and have him say things, although, if the ghost is really determined/angry, it can cause him to do things. This is very rare, though.
    • Shadow travelling - Like most demigod children of underworld gods, Taleis has the ability to travel from place to place via shadows. While this power doesn't use as much energy as his other powers, it still does leave him feeling pretty tired. Still, being able to use it twelve times a day is an improvement to how many times he could do it before. The maximum amount of space that Taleis can travel over is two hundred yards by himself, which is significantly lowered to ninety yards if he has a companion. The maximum number of companions that Taleis can bring with him is one extra person. The power literally doesn't work if he attempts to bring anyone else with him. Between shadow traveling, Taleis must wait at least half an hour before he can shadow travel again, and at least forty five minutes if he wants to shadow travel with someone else.

Fatal Flaw: He's a liar - Another one of Taleis's weaknesses is that he's a huge liar, and not only that, but he's good at it. Taleis knows he's good at lying, and he knows that a lot of people look at him and see how sad he tends to look, and a lot of the time they think, 'Oh, poor kid, his dad's in jail. He deserves to be cut some slack.' Even the people who don't know his back story know that he's got some serious problems. When he lies, he can escape them, and people tend to either pity him or believe him. Half of the time he doesn't even need to lie about something, he just does.
Other Flaws: Taleis' other flaws are that he's a player/unfaithful, and he can't really read ancient Greek that well. Shockingly enough, Taleis' dyslexia isn't all that bad, but the result of that is that he can't read ancient Greek that well.
Personality: Most people see Taleis as a heartless jerk who enjoys toying with people's minds, although that isn't exactly the truth. While Taleis acts like that's who he is, he's actually nothing like that if you get to know him. The real Taleis is somewhat of a dork who spends almost all of his free time reading or looking up odd places that he wants to visit. He even has lists of places with facts about each one, all hidden under his bed in a huge trunk that he had dragged down from the attic one day. Instead of being this brave person he makes himself out to be, he really does half of the sh** he does to feel powerful. While Taleis isn't actually weak instead of brave, it's more like he's actually shy. He's just very good at hiding it, and over the years, he has taught himself to believe that he isn't shy. While he is somewhat weak on the inside, he's still shockingly confident for someone his age, but not in the way most teenagers are. While most people he knew were confident in a rash way, Taleis is confident in a more mature way. Instead of having the confidence to swear at someone for doing something he doesn't agree with, he has the confidence to kindly ask the person to not do that and explain why he would not like them to do it. He reaches out to people instead of waiting for them to reach out to him. One other thing about Taleis is that he's a major flirt. Even if he's out on a date, he'll chat some other girl up when his date isn't looking, and possibly swap numbers, which is very unlike someone who actually has trust issues.

Weapon(s): Taleis has a Stygian iron sword, as well as a small celestial bronze dagger he nabbed from the weapons shed.
Pets: Taleis doesn't have any pets.
Talents/Skills: Taleis is something like fearless. Not completely fearless, but still, pretty fearless. Taleis is also very confident and outgoing. He doesn't have that bad dyslexia, either. He still has it, but it's not completely terrible.

RP Example: Taleis sighed as he looked across the school courtyard to where Rebecca sat, surrounded by a group of girls who were all hugging her. Taleis didn't need to hear Rebecca's sobs to know that she was crying. He knew she would be sad for a bit. Most girls were.

He supposed that he had been a bit harsh on Rebecca. After he stood her up, she confronted him. Literally went to his house to see if he was there, which was more than most girls. He had to give her credit for that. Anyways, she had confronted him and asked him why he didn't show up to their date, to which he responded, word for word, "Because you're ugly, stupid, and annoying. Why would you think I would actually go out with you?" before he slammed the door in her face. He knew he could have gone with the typical chatting some girl up while on the date, but that didn't seem satisfying enough to him.

He was in one of his moods that night. Only Aidan knew about the moods. They could be over different things, and they commonly were, although he often would get into one of the moods over his dad. Those weren't the worst ones, though. The worst ones were over the way Aidan made Taleis feel, which he could, under no circumstance, tell Aidan about. He was almost possible that Aidan would first stare at him with a shocked expression, his mouth hanging wide open. Then he would close his mouth, shake his head, and punch Taleis. Not one of their normal, playful punches, though. It would be a hard, solid punch, right to the face. Then Aidan would yell at him to get away from him and to never speak, or even look, at him again.

That was the mood he had last night. The mood where he would do anything to be with Aidan, watching a movie and feeding eachother popcorn, or whatever it was that the couples did in those sappy romance novels his grandmother read. He knew he shouldn't have taken it out on Rebecca, and especially not in that manner, but he couldn't help himself; he was just so angry about the fact that he knew it could never happen, that it was so wrong that he wanted to be with Aidan, and Rebecca was just there. He had originally planned to lead her on, tell her he had forgotten and then invited her out to a movie the next night, promising that he would remember.

But, once again, Rebecca was there in front of him, and Taleis was in the worst of his moods that night. He guessed the main thing that set him off was the fact that it would be okay for Aidan to go out with Rebecca, but there was no way it was okay for Aidan to go out with himself.
Biography: Taleis's first years of life were all very similar. His father taught at a university, so he had a babysitter for most of the day. Truthfully, Taleis's dad never had much time for him. His father always seemed to be doing something, mainly working. One of the few things Taleis can remember from these years was that his father was almost always working. Being so young, though, Taleis didn't pay much attention. His babysitter practically raised him, and Taleis had even started calling her Mommy. One time, Taleis's father had heard Taleis call his babysitter Mommy, which had sent him into a rage. He shouted at Taleis to never call anyone Mommy ever again, and then proceeded to fire the babysitter. He had a replacement by the next day.
Things really started to go downhill before Taleis had turned four. His father had started to drink, and many people suspected that he was doing drugs. Taleis, of course, didn't know what drugs were, but he knew it was bad from the way people talked about it. Unknown to young Taleis, his father had been fired from his job due to random absences, which were becoming more and more common. At this point, Taleis had been going to a day care, so he wasn't there to see his father passed out drunk on the couch. In fact, he never saw much of his dad, and this didn't change at all when Taleis turned five. When Taleis turned five, though, things really started getting bad. It became fully obvious that his father was an alcoholic, and beliefs of him doing drugs became more enforced, and it was actually true. Still, Taleis knew nothing of this. One day, though, Taleis's father decided that he needed a fix, and bad, so he attempted to rob the local bank. Several people were injured, and one woman was paralyzed from the waist down. When the police arrested Taleis's father, one of them remembered that he had a kid, so he and some others went to tell his child (Taleis) what had happened. When they arrived at the house, though, they were shocked. The house was in terrible condition, and empty beer bottles were littered all over the floor. They decided that Taleis's father was an unstable parent, and he shouldn't be able to see Taleis, even when he got out of jail.
Taleis's closest living relatives who were willing to take him in were his grandparents, who lived all the way in London, England. At first, adjusting was difficult. He had a funny accent and he didn't use the right words, but he was fully adjusted by the age of seven. Taleis actually had started to become popular, too, but that wasn't the case with his grandparents. Taleis and his grandparents hardly ever got along, which Taleis was pretty sure had something to do with a feud with his father that he had heard them mention, although they never would tell him anything about it. Taleis didn't have a problem with that, seeing as he wanted to spend as little time with them as possible, and the same went for his grandparents. They would say yes every time Taleis asked to go over to someone's house, and Taleis asked frequently enough. In fact, Taleis hardly ever had anyone over. Still, there was something odd about his behaviour that his grandparents noticed. He always seemed to be cynical of everyone, and never told anyone anything. While they didn't notice it, Taleis almost always lied to them; he never trusted his grandparents enough to tell them the truth. By age eight, Taleis and his grandparents had fallen into a routine of avoiding eachother as much as possible. In fact, Taleis hardly bothered to show up on time, and his grandparents hardly bothered to enforce it.
Taleis really started to turn into quite the socialite at this age. He was friends with nearly everyone, although he still tended to act cynical. He never really trusted anyone with his secrets, or anything at all, really. Still, he didn't let that get in his way. He tried to become friends with as many people as possible, although he found that it was difficult for him to not end up betraying their trust sometimes. As he turned ten, he found this habit harder and harder to break. In fact, he found that he didn't really want to stop, because it made him feel powerful. The thing that really sticks out, though, from when Taleis was ten is that he made his first (and only to date) true friend. When Taleis turned ten, he started to become independent, and he had always had a fondness of music, so he would often walk to the local CD store. One day while he was there, he noticed a boy whom he knew from school, Aidan. Normally he would have ignored him, but he noticed that Aidan was looking at the CD for a band called Panic! At the Disco. Now, Taleis had heard of them and listened to them, and he knew that they started out as a cover band of Blink 182. Not being able to resist, Taleis walked over, tapped the boy on the shoulder, and, once he had his attention, said, "They are such a ripoff of Blink 182." After that, they got into a huge debate over whether or not Blink 182 or Panic! At the Disco was better. Shockingly enough, Taleis ended up going over to Aidan's house, and they've been friends since. Age eleven followed in much of the same matter, with Taleis spending most of his time hanging out with Aidan and arguing over bands.
When Taleis turned twelve, he started getting interested in girls. While this was far earlier than the rest of the boys his age, Taleis didn't care one bit. Besides, plenty of girls thought that he was cute. So, naturally, Taleis took advantage of this. He would take girls out to the movies, to get ice cream, to the park, all sorts of stuff, yet everything always seemed to end up the same; Taleis backstabbing the girl, and the poor girl being left brokenhearted. Whether it was that he'd stand her up or go out with someone else, he never seemed to be able to date a girl for longer than three days. Shockingly enough, all of the girls didn't seem to get the message and continued to accept his invitations to go out for ice cream, but nothing ever changed. No matter how important the girl thought she was, or how much Taleis liked her, the girl would always end up with a broken heart, one way or another.
When Taleis turned fourteen, he seemed to have turned into a full time player. He was breaking girls' hearts left and right, yet they always seemed to come back for more. He still spent all of his free time discussing music or goofing off with Aidan and the guys, as he referred to his group. He called his group of friends Aidan and the guys because Aidan was really his only friend in the group. The guys were just there so Taleis wouldn't get bored, or if Aidan was busy. Just when it seemed that Taleis was spiraling out of control with the way he played girls' hearts, he met someone who was truly special names Kassidy. All of his friends could tell how hard he fell for Kassidy, and it was obvious that Kassidy felt the same. Many people even thought that he would finally have a long term relationship. This was not the case. Taleis had grown so used to breaking hearts that he ended up breaking Kassidy's. It took longer than most, of course, but it still happened. Taleis and Kassidy's relationship was actually Taleis's longest relationship with a girl, lasting two weeks. Now, poor Kassidy, she thought she was really special because of how long Taleis went out with her, but then he broke her heart. Kassidy ended up spiraling into a deep depression, until her family eventually moved away. A few months later, everyone found out that she had committed suicide. This had an awfully hard effect on Taleis, who started spending more and more time with Aidan to help himself get over it. While Aidan was angry with Taleis when he heard of what Taleis did to Kassidy, and he did slap Taleis, he was always there for him. Over this time period, Taleis found himself getting closer, and closer, and closer to Aidan. He wasn't sure when it was, but he realized that he had started to feel attracted to Aidan. Of course, he rejected the thought that he was happy immediately, although he did consider the fact that he might be bisexual for some time. Still, he found the idea all to frightening and always pushed it away, deciding that he was simply confused due to all the drama with Kassidy. On a completely random note, though, when Taleis and Aidan were fifteen, they got attacked by a monster. They ran straight to Aidan's house, and, despite Taleis's protests, they ended up telling Aidan's mom. Aidan's mom had been warned by Aidan's father that these things might happen, as well as given the address to camp in case they do. Knowing that then was the right time, she sent Taleis and Aidan off to camp after telling Taleis's grandparents.

Other Notes: Taleis' playby is Harry Styles, and the quote is from Love, Selfish Love by Patrick Stump.

    Barr Quinn

all this gravity will try to pull you down, but not this time.

    the basics
name and nicknames: Barr's full name is Barrfhionn (Barr-fi-on) Calain Quinn, although he prefers to go by Barr.
age and birthday: Born on December fifth, 1994, Barr is seventeen years of age.
      gender: Barr is a male.
years at camp: Barr has been a camper at Camp Half Blood for about five years now, although he wasn't a yer round camper until one year ago.
year rounder or summer: Barr is a year round camper, due to his family having a lack of money to keep sending him back and forth between Ireland and the US each summer. He was a summer only camper for his first four years at camp.
claimed or not: Barr is claimed, and has been claimed for about three years.

    the physical
height: Barr stands at a fairly average height of five feet and seven inches.
hair: Barr's hair is a pale blonde colour, which is why his mother chose to name him Barrfhionn. (Barrfhionn means fair hair.) Over the years, his hair has gotten darker, although it still is pretty light. For a while his hair was dyed a dirty blonde colour, although it didn't exactly work for him. Barr's hair has always been about medium length, not very long, but not very short, either. His bangs are somewhat swoopy, which he shamelessly admits to being Justin Bieber inspired. Sometimes he'll use hair jell to shape his hair into a fohawk (fake mohawk).
eyes: Many people tend to notice Barr's eyes, which are a piercing blue colour. Many people tend to think that he wears contact lenses because his eyes are so bright, but they're actually natural. While the colour of his eyes can be described as piercing, they look very kind and soft most of the time.
piercings: Barr does not have any piercings.
tattoos: Barr doesn't have any tattoos, either.
distinguishing features: One of Barr's distinguishing features is his hair. His hair is uncommonly light, although many people have started to bleach their hair lighter because of influences like Lady Gaga. Still, his hair colour is pretty uncommon. Another distinguishing feature is his eyes, which are a piercing blue colour. While his eyes are a very piercing blue colour, they always look very soft and kind, and they tend to give away his emotions very easily.
style: Barr's sense of style is a bit odd, but it's odd in a way that suits him. Like most people, Barr tends to wear t-shirts, whether they're plain or they have some kind of saying on them. He normally wears a cardigan, too, unless it's too hot. The main thing that makes his style of dress so odd is that he normally wears slacks, whether they're plain beige, black, or some odd colour such as blue. Barr often wears sneakers.

    the psyche
      likes:
      • Shiny things - Barr absolutely loves shiny objects. It can be a small sequin left on the ground, a diamond, or even a brass button, just so long as it's shiny. He even has a collection of shiny objects that he keeps in a box under his bunk, as well as a flashlight so he can make the objects sparkle.
      • Music - Barr is one of those people who believes that if nothing else works, music will make you happy. He's almost always listening to music, and he's even attempted to start a band on several occasions. It never did work out, though.
      • Playing guitar - When Barr was twelve, he got a guitar for Christmas. Ever since, he's loved playing the instrument.

      dislikes:
      • Seriousness - There is nothing Barr can't stand more than seriousness. He always had been the type to mess around, who could never take anything seriously and always needed there to be something he could make a joke out of. Naturally, this causes serious situations to be a bit stressful for Barr.

      strengths:
      • Finding the humour in things - Seeing as Barr was quite the comedian, he could almost always find something funny in a situation.
      • Making people laugh - Barr has always been able to make people laugh, and it doesn't even have to be intentional. Sometimes he can simply be doing something that he considers totally normal, but someone else may find it funny. He normally uses this to help people get their minds off of heavy matters.
      • Playing guitar and singing - Barr has been playing guitar since he was twelve, and he's become quite the musician over the years through various lessons and lots of free time spent cooped up in his room with his guitar. As for singing, it was something Barr was always able to do. He had been singing since he was young, and it's always been his dream to do something with music.

      weaknesses:
      • He's terrible at being serious - Barr could never be serious. He grew up being the class clown, which resulted in him lacking the skill of being serious. If he's ever in a serious situation, he has to find something funny about it, because that's just the way he functions.
      • He's very easily amazed - It doesn't take a lot to amaze Barr. Just the slightest thing can leave him with his jaw hanging open, completely flabbergasted. He can be amazed by something as simple as a really shiny penny or drops of dew on a leaf.
      • Gullible - One of Barr's two biggest weaknesses is that he's very gullible. He'll believe the wildest of lies, no matter how obvious it is that it's false. If he even starts to doubt something for a second, he starts to feel bad.
      • Overly empathetic - Barr's other biggest weakness is that he's overly empathetic. This makes it very easy for someone to use him to get their way. If a girl stands him up on a date but she tells him some story about her puppy being hit by a car just before the date, he'll end up close to tears and hugging her, telling her that it's okay.

      fears:
      • Falling - While Barr knows that it's a very childish fear to have, he's afraid that, one day, he's going to some how fall off of the Earth and end up falling through space, until he's hopelessly lost. When he was younger, he used to have nightmares in which he would be falling through space for endless amounts of time, and every single time he had them, he would wake up screaming. As he got older, he stopped having the nightmares, but he was still afraid of falling from some height. He had almost forgotten his childhood fear when his school went on a field trip to a planetarium. They had a projection of the solar system on the ceiling, and they zoomed out to show just how vast space truly was, which gave the audience a feeling of falling. This brought Barr's childhood fear rushing back to him, and ever since he's been afraid of falling.
      • Growing up - Barr is actually very afraid of growing up. In Barr's mind, when ou're young, you shine the brightest. Then you get to adulthood, and you start to fizzle out a bit, until you're at grandparent age and you just sit around all day, until you fully fade and die. Barr could never see himself sitting behind a desk working some desk job or just anything beyond being a teenager. It all just scares him. Barr has always thought that he'd kill himself before he got too old, because he has no idea what he'd ever do.

      secrets:
      • He still sleeps with a teddy bear - A little known fact about Barr is that he still sleeps with a teddy bear. He tries to keep this secret as best as he can, because, well, people don't tend to react well when they hear about a seventeen year old boy who still has a teddy bear.

      dreams:
      • To be young forever - This is more of a wish than a dream, but it still counts. Basically, Barr is kind of afraid of growing up. He doesn't want to end up as one of those people who works a stupid desk job that he hates just because it pays the bills. In Barr's mind, the best way to prevent this is to be young forever, even though he knows how unlikely that is.

      quirks:
      • He's very easily amazed - Barr is very easily amazed. He can be amazed by even a colourful pinwheel, or some fairy dust. He's kind of like someone who never takes anything for granted, notices every tiny detail, and praises all of the small things that people consider to be normal.
      • He doesn't have a filter - Barr's mind doesn't have a filter. Whatever he thinks tends to just come out of his mouth. Luckily for him, nearly everything he thinks is innocent. If it's a joke, it's never attacking someone. If he sees a girl who he thinks is pretty, he makes sure that he tells her. If he has a question, he asks it, no matter how stupid it may seem to be.

personality: All in all, Barr is very naive. He's almost like a little kid, in the way that he'll start crying if someone tells him that Harry Potter is just a story, and the way that he trusts almost everyone. He always sees the good in people, no matter how scary the person looks. He could see someone who was covered in tattoos, had a ton of facial piercings, and obviously had a gun in their pocket, and he would sit right next to them if they weren't sitting by anyone because they looked lonely. He's a very likable person, and even the toughest of people tend to find themselves warming up to Barr. He hates it when people are sad, and he always has to try to make them feel better, no matter how rude the person was to him before. Unless, of course, they did something like murder his grandma.

    the family
nationality: Barr is Irish, although he's lived in America part time for four years, and he's been living in America full time for about one year.
birthplace: Barr was born in Dublin, Ireland.
hometown: Barr grew up in Dublin, Ireland, although he also counts Camp as kind of like a second hometown, even though he's only lived there year-round for one year.
father: Boreas - Barr's father is Boreas, the Greek god of the cold, north wind. Boreas met Biddy, Barr's mother, when she was on tour in Canada. Basically, they just had a one night thing, and they never met eachother again.

When Biddy became pregnant, though, word came back to Boreas, as things often do come to gods. He knew he couldn't speak to Biddy, but he did watch over her and Barr to make sure things were okay for them. There were times when he did want to intervene, as all gods want to do with their children at least once in their life, but, of course, he couldn't. Boreas and Barr have never met before.

mother: Biddy Quinn - Biddy grew up in the same house that Barr grew up in, and she even has the same furniture that she had in the house when she was a kid. Many people would think that Biddy was one of those girls who was very plain and did everything she was told to do, but this was not the case. Biddy was actually one of those musicians who had one single song that got very popular, but nobody heard of her when the song stopped being played on every radio station. Basically, she was a one-hit-wonder.

During her time as a one-hit-wonder, Biddy went on many tours, one of which had a tour date in Canada. While she was there, she had bumped into Boreas. Basically, things happened that normally happen when you're young and aren't committed to someone, as Biddy was. Now, Biddy thought that nothing would come of it, but the tour had to come to an early close due to Biddy being pregnant.

As soon as Biddy found out that she was pregnant, she knew that there was only one person who it could be. She tried to find the man who she had met while in Canada, but she couldn't find him anywhere. So she went back home to her parent's house, because she still didn't have a house of her own.

Biddy spent a lot of money to make sure she had the best health care and insurance, because she wanted her child to grow up safe. She had many of the same traits as Barr ended up with, especially being overly empathetic, and ended up giving most of the rest of the money she had made off of that one song to charity.

Biddy never married anyone or got a boyfriend, because she was always afraid that Barr wouldn't like her boyfriend. Biddy often put others in front of herself, so this wasn't very surprising. With the help of a well trusted family friend as a babysitter, Biddy raised Barr well enough. Biddy and Barr both got along very well.

siblings: Barr does not have any siblings, although his mother has wanted to adopt children.
pets: Barr has a pet wind spirit horse named Audra. Barr found Audra one day when he was walking through a park to get home. Audra was one horse of a herd of what appeared to be wild horses to most people, but Barr could see what they really looked like. At first, Barr was simply fascinated, watching from afar, but soon he ended up walking over to them. Audra was the friendliest towards Barr, and he almost immediately took a liking to her. When he heard animal control coming, he got the idea that he could somehow keep Audra in a container, so he put her in the container for his sandwich he had at lunch. Shockingly enough, it worked, and he ran away before animal control got there. Ever since then Audra has been Barr's pet.
history: Ages zero to four - Much of Barr's early life passed in the same way. He was raised by only his mother and a very well trusted family friend to watch over him when his mother worked. Barr's family didn't have the most money in the world because his mother donated most of the money from her days as a one-hit-wonder to charity because it made her feel selfish to have so much money, when other people need it more than her. She could have kept the money and not have to work, but she instead chose the more difficult rode. Because of this, Barr's mother wasn't around much, but she and Barr were still very close and spent as much free time as possible together.
Ages five through seven - When Barr turned five, his empathy started to really kick in. This was when it became obvious how much he cared for things. If he ever saw somebody who was sad, he would start trying to make them laugh, which he found to be one of the best techniques he had, so he stuck with that. Most of the time the jokes were foolish, but that was okay, as long as they made people laugh. Barr was much of the same when he was six and seven, although he did show signs of being a bit more immature than the other kids in his grade (think like Britney from Glee, still believing in fairy tales and being distracted or amused by simple things.)
Ages eight through nine - Barr was obviously much more childish than most people his age, although it wasn't in a bad way. Many people tended to find his innocence funny, and some of the more mature girls thought it was kind of cute. During this time, Barr befriended many people, although this was around when weird things started happening to him. On one occasion his mother found him playing with what appeared to be wild horses, which many people were freaked out about, seeing as there were wild horses in a city. The horses were actually some shockingly friendly storm spirits whom Barr had befriended one day.
Ages ten through eleven/a bit of twelve - When Barr turned eleven, things started to get slightly more freaky than they had been. It wasn't so freaky that people started to think something was wrong. No, most people didn't notice anything going on. Most of the things that happened just made Barr look a little disobedient, so they were mainly problems between Barr and his mother. Often Barr would play with the storm spirits, although his mother didn't know about it. Many times, Barr would be playing with them and they would end up making a mess, and Barr's mother would blame it on him. One day when Barr was twelve, he was playing with a boy from school. He decided he would show the boy the storm spirits, because he had a feeling that the boy would be able to see the storm spirits, too. The only difference was that when he went to where the storm spirits were, they ended up attacking Barr and his friend. As luck would have it, Barr's friend was a satyr. Soon after the attack, Barr's friend took him back to his house, where he explained the situation to Barr and his mom. He told them about camp, which Barr and his mother both decided was the best option for Barr, although they decided it would be best if Barr only stayed at camp for the summer.
Ages twelve through fifteen/a bit of sixteen - For about four years, Barr would stay in Ireland with his mom for the school year, but he would go to Camp Half Blood over the summer. When Barr was in Ireland he would leave Audra at camp, and a year-rounder would look after her for him. When Biddy found out that Barr favoured a bow and arrows, she bought him a practicing block that came with some of the dull-pointed arrows so he could practice. Barr's attitude hardly changed, although he did become a bit more mature. Still, he was easily amazed by things and didn't have much of a filter on his mind.
Ages sixteen through seventeen (present) - When Barr turned sixteen, his mother was having some financial difficulty. All in all, they both decided that it would save a lot more money and be far easier if Barr just stayed at camp year round. The summer when Barr was sixteen, he hopped onto a plain to New York City with a one way ticket and some money. His mother told people that he was living with his aunt in America so she didn't raise suspicion. At first, Barr had a bit of difficulty adjusting to life in America. First of all, he had to get used to people saying different words and spelling things differently, which he found the most difficult. He also had a bit of difficulty making new friends, although he did well enough.

    extra
      powers: Barr has no powers.*
role-play example: "...and don't forget to send letters!" Barr's mum said, finally finishing her long speech. Her eyes had been filling up with tears as she spoke to Barr, and he was afraid that she might start bawling, right then and there.

Barr honestly couldn't blame her, though. He was going away to live at camp year-round, and he didn't know when he'd ever see his mum again. It wasn't very reassuring. He always knew that he'd be able to return home at the end of the summer. Knowing that he wasn't going to come back home for a while...well, it didn't settle well with him.

"I'll write letters whenever I have the chance, Mum," Barr said. It was a shock to hear his voice sounding so broken and close to tears; he never was the emotional type, always preferring to joke around. He definitely didn't like the scratchiness of the way it sounded, much less the way it felt. "Now I have to go, so I don't miss my flight." he said, after clearing his throat. It didn't really do much to help his voice, but at least he tried.

After he gave his mum a kiss on the cheek and a hug, he turned around and walked into the cool air of the airport. He knew his mum was horrible with goodbyes, which was why he tried to make it as short as possible. If he had stayed a second longer, she probably would have kept him outside for thirty minutes as she cried on his shoulder.

weapon: Barr has a standard issue bow and some arrows from the weapons shed, although he prefers not to fight.
play-by: The playby I am using for Barr is Niall Horan of One Direction so maybe I'm a little bit obsessed...
extra notes: *I am currently too lazy to take the time to think of and type up powers, although, with the permission of an admin, I may add powers later.

The summer comes in atom bombs.

    Full name: Tacey Wilkens
Nicknames: Some people call her Tace.
Age: Tacey is eighteen years young.
Years at Camp: Tacey is brand new at camp.

God parent: Tacey's mother is Vor, the Norse goddess of curiosity.
    Mortal family:
    • Father:
Tacey's father is a man named Carlos Wilkens, and, just like Tacey, grew up in a small town in Washington called Roselynn. Unlike Tacey, he never left that town, and ran the local gun club, just as his father and grandfather and many generations of men before him had. He had gone to the local school and the local college and went on very few vacations. It's a mystery as to how he managed to get a woman such as Vor to fall for him, seeing as he was a very ordinary man, just like everyone else in the town. Just as all of the gods' relationships with mortals, Carlos and Vor's didn't last very long, and Vor left the second Carlos left her alone once Tacey was born, not leaving a single explanation. Carlos got rid of any reminder of Vor he had left in his house, except for Tacey, of course. He married a local girl named Maria and refused to tell Tacey anything about her original birth mother, simply saying that it was a mistake.

    • Step mother:
Tacey's step mother was a woman named Maria McConville, although she went by Maria Wilkens once she married Carlos. Maria was a very kind woman, although she was clueless about the world outside of Roselynn. Maria was just a clueless woman in general. When she went to school, the schooling system wasn't the best. Still, everyone knew she meant well, although she was a bit defenseless. She went along with everything just so they wouldn't get angry at her. She gave birth to a single son, Andy, but the doctor told her that if she tried to give birth to another child, it would be fatal. Tacey always suspected that Maria didn't like her, but, of course, Maria was too nice to ever say anything about it, and Tacey never wanted to bring it up.

    • Brother:
Tacey had one brother, Andy, who was born when Tacey was ten. Andy was a kind of whiny boy, and he always seemed to have a red, runny nose. He was awful at making friends, and he always tried to follow Tacey around. She always managed to get rid of him, though. Tacey never liked Andy, and Andy grew to dislike like Tacey by the age of six. He was the one who came up with the nickname 'Tace', which he called Tacey because he knew it annoyed her, and Tacey called Andy the younger brother from Hell.

Date of birth: Tacey was born on June twenty first, 1994.
Place of birth: Tacey was born in a hospital in Seattle, although she grew up in Roselynn, so she credits Roselynn as being where she was born and raised.
Pets: Tacey has never had a pet, although she would love to have a cat.

    Appearance:
Eye color: Tacey has blue eyes that always have a look of curiosity in them. Even when she's fuming with anger, Tacey's eyes look curios.
Hair: Tacey's hair is bright red and long, going about an inch and a half past her shoulders. Her hair is kind of wavy, but mostly straight. When she was younger, Tacey considered getting it curled, but as she got older decided against it.
Height: Tacey stands at a stunning height of five feet and fount and a half inches. For those of you who don't understand my sense of humour, that was sarcasm.
Body type: Tacey is slender, but not horribly so. She's still got fat and curves and all that. Tacey's no skeleton.
Distinct markings: Just in case you missed them in the pictures, Tacey has freckles. I know they're hard to see, but they're there. And yes, that was sarcasm, in case you were wondering.
Style: Tacey has many different tyles, depending on who she's with. When she's at school, she dresses the way popular girls typically dress (well, seeing as she's popular herself, that makes sense). She just...tones it down a bit. She'll wear tops that show a bit of cleavage sometimes, sure, but she doesn't go for the short-shorts. Nuh-uh. No way. Instead she opts for jeans, and modest shorts in the summer.

The widower is dressed in white.
Just take a chance or leave it up to faith.
