Avoiding unknown psychos!!! I mean, uh, reading...O-o

Havana looked through the fantasy section and found another one of her favorite books,Inkheart.

I smirked when I saw my name in the old book, back when my hair reached my shoulders at 9. The story was depressing me, however, and I forced myself to put it away.

I took it off the shelf and flipped throughou the ends of the chapters until I saw a picture of fire. I had a backflash then dropped the book.

I frowned when I heard the thick thump of a book falling to the floor. I looked over to the girl who ran into me (who was quite pretty) and smiled. "Everything alright?" I asked in my British accent.

She shook her head and swallowed and dropped to the ground to pick up the book "I-I'm fine" she said and picked it up her hands shaking.

I strode over to her and touched her shaking hands with a frown. "Doesn't seem like it. Here, you should sit down." I pulled up my chair and motioned for her to sit.

Havana smiled slightly and sat down "I suppose you want to know,right?" she asked giving a sideways smile.

I sat on the edge of the table and smiled back. "Not unless you don't want to tell me." I countered. I picked up another one of Dad's books and read the prolouge.

"I watched a girl burn to death" she said "So I'm terrified of fire" she said and bit her lip.

I dropped my book at the f-word. Heh heh. You know I mean fire! Anyways, sweat beaded on my forehead as my hands clenched the tabled tightly until my knuckles turned white. "Oh. I don't like....fire...either." Or water. Or wind. Or steep earth. So, yeah.

"I'm more of an indoor person too" she said gently putting her hand on his shoulder "You alright?" she asked

I released a small manly squeak then cleared my throat. "Fine? Uh, yeah. Pssh, I invented fine. I'm cool. Totally cool." I smiled sheepishly then turned m attention to a very interesting spot on the wall.

Havana followed his haze to the wall "So what's your name?" she asked noticig he was acting a bit weird

I looked at her from the corner of my eye hesitantly. "Um...Septimus-Jude." I answered shakily.

She sat down "Havana" she said and smiled. Why are you smiling? Stop it!

"I like that name." I grinned. I never talked this much. Strange.

"Your name is cool too" she said and smiled wider. Idiot! "Who's your god parent?" she asked

"Hecate." I sighed and drummed my fingers on my thigh rhythemically.

Yes! She decided to let her jokes go "Mine to!" she said messing with him

My eyes widened, my heart dropped, and my fingers froze all at once. "Oh..." I muttered. Why was I so upset? I didn't care. Right?

She rolled her eyes "Just kidding" she said "It's Peitho" she said. Why would anybody care about me?

"Ah." Go figure. "That's cool." My nerves eased up and I relaxed.

"Got any powers?" she asked

I nodded. "I'm an elementalist. But I prefer metal working, or perhaps wood. You?"

"I can give commands" she said "Only basic stuff" she said and turned to him "Watch" she said "JUMP!" she said
