| After a nice round of torturing my sisters, I fell into a deep sleep.
I touched Lucy's face. "Are you sure?" I whispered.
I nodded quickly. "Yes, I'll be fine. Just go to your cabin and sleep."
"Be careful." I said as I hugged her, walking to my cabin.
"No promises." I sighed as I walked over to my bunk. | |

| I was carried into my cabin and set down on what felt like my bunk. I groaned when I heard my name, finally waking up slowly. "Leave me alone." I said to no one in particular.
I waited in the doorway, not daring to take a step near Katie until she was stable. | |

| "I'm Derick and ima fix you up now." I said and pulled out three jars of remedies I made myself. I then pull up a chair and opened up the first jar with smelled like Lemons. "This may sting." I said softly and smoothed some on her first cuts. | |

| I shrugged, looking at Katie with soft eyes brimming with tears. "Yeah. Let's go." My voice cracked some, but I played it off by walking to my cabin.
"Summer." I snorted. "If it were up to me, I'd banish summer from the universe so that the children would have nothing to look forward to. Then I could turn them into my mindless little slaves."
