I was silent, not wanting to tell of the terrible things they used to do.... Not as bad as Derick's situation, but still. I didn't like talking about it.

Katie: She pretended not to be watching and listening, then turned her head just in time to see Derick approach. "Hello...." She smiled sweetly as the others glared my way.
I cringed and looked away quickly, careful not to look them in the eyes.
