The Story of Chase Whitebirch
Chase Whitebirch is an ordinary guy who does ordinary things. What you don't know when you first meet him is that Chase is a father of a baby girl named Aselyn Rose Whitebirch.

When Chase was born, his father went crazy. He was balancing his job and a child as a single parent at the same time. He wasn't even sure who Chase's mother was. The man soon found his feet, hiring a babysitter who lived in the apartment opposite the Whitebirches. As three year old Chase played with thirteen year old Samantha from next door, Mr Whitebirch came home and got to know Mrs Apartment Opposite (whom was Samantha's mother, Helen) over a cup of coffee.

A science professor, Mr Whitebirch (who was named Darren) hit it off with office worker Helen. Over the four years of talking over coffee and eventually dating, Darren asked Helen to marry him. A huge white wedding ensued and Chase just watched it all. Seven year old Chase felt like he wanted to rip the whole thing apart. He didn't want a mother. He didn't want two step sisters. He didn't want the baby brother a year later, either.

Three days before his ninth birthday, the Whitebirches moved into a huge house near the college where Darren taught. The three storey building was old with a Victorian style design. With Darren and Helen taking the master bedroom and the other kids nabbing the other bedrooms quickly, Chase found himself the proud owner of the loft. He didn't mind. He could be alone up there, after all.

Ever since he started school, Chase has been a studious child. He was smarter than the other children and swiftly progressing further. The child prodigy was skilled in many things. Mathematics, sciences and languages being the most prominent. In his loft bedroom, Chase had dedicated one wall entirely to his book collection. He was a very secluded child who was rarely seen downstairs when it wasn't a meal time. At school, Chase was skipped three years to keep up with his steadily rising IQ. After taking a standardized test, Chase was admitted into American Mensa as a gifted child.

Chase secluded himself from the outside world most of the time, preferring to escape into science or literature in the library at any chance he got. Chase was never really very social. His powers first appeared when he was aged eleven. He had been walking home from school when a gang of people were closing in on a girl he recognised as his step-sister Susan's best friend.

Interrupting them, Chase tried to defend the girl. One of the guys went to punch him but the girl got in front of him Her mouth bled and Chase got angry as soon as he realised what had happened. The eleven year old drew his fists and growled like a feral animal. His pupils dilated and his teeth sharpened. Chase was only missing a foaming mouth to resemble a rabid and angry animal. Whilst Chase blanked out, he ripped the guys apart, leaving them with bite marks and even claw marks. Led home by the girl, Chase couldn't answer any of her questions. He had no idea what that was himself. The two kept it their secret and didn't speak again for a long time.

Two years later, Chase was surprised to come downstairs on his thirteenth birthday to find the very same girl sitting with his step sisters, sobbing into her hands. The girl, whose name was Bonnie, had told her parents she had come out as a bisexual and the girl was disowned. Having nowhere to go, she went to her best friend's house. Chase's parents allowed her to stay until graduation, rooming with Susan.

About three months after, his parents decided to take a much needed vacation alone in Hawaii. Helen and Darren trusting the eldest child at home (Susan as Samantha had gone to college and was now living in Iowa) to keep the house in order, the two left the four children in the house alone. Excited, Susan and Bonnie planned a party. Chase was unaware of said party until the actual night of it. He came downstairs for a snack and found the house filled with people.
People in every direction were getting high and getting drunk. Feeling his pulse get faster with anger, he retreated quickly to his room, practicing his meditation to calm himself down. Half an our into his calm state, he was interrupted by the sound of the loft door opening and closing. Bonnie stumbled to his room and smiled at him.

After a drunken rant and crying on Chase's shoulder about who knows what, Bonnie kissed Chase. Chase didn't know how to react so she pressed further. The next morning, Chase found Bonnie's head on his chest. Swearing never to speak of the event again, Chase and Bonnie cleaned up the house whilst Susan and Colin slept. The house was spotless by the time their visiting sister, Samanatha, arrived to check up on everything.

Bonnie couldn't help herself though. She had to have Chase. Desperate to feel someone loved her, the two began a secret relationship which spanned a whole month before Bonnie received shocking news. Chase was downstairs at dinner when Bonnie stormed in, the picture of anger. She threw an object at Chase in front of all the family. Chase inspected it, curious, and recoiled when he recognised it to be a positive pregnancy test.

In deep trouble with his family, Chase was thrown into the deep end of life and had to accept his fate as a teenage father to be. Through months of turmoil, Chase saw the pretty girl he had once protected from a gang of violent men change into a hormonal (perhaps even violent on occasion) mess. His daughter, Aselyn Rose, was born a month before his own birthday. The family quickly adapted to the change. Chase himself proved to be a very good father.

Chase was soon found and recruited for an institute for gifted young people. It tore his heart apart to be separated from his daughter but the institute would both pay for the child's upbringing and help his talents flourish. Returning home every two weeks to spend time with his daughter, Chase got into arguments with Bonnie often. The mother of his child wasn't coping as well as he was and was suffering from violent thoughts of the child. That all didn't matter when her parents decided to take her back into her home. Without her baby.

Chase helped out whenever he could, eventually being sniffed out by a satyr and practically dragged to Camp Halfblood. Chase kept escaping the camp to go home and see his daughter so an agreement was struck with the teenage father. He could see his daughter every weekend and she could even come and visit him if he so wished. Chase's daughter was now three years old and he needed to know she was OK. Agreeing, Chase was allowed to go home that day to see his child. After explaining to his father about his mother, Chase had to leave again. He never once missed an opportunity to see his daughter.

Chase Alexander Whitebirch
"Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few"
Nicknames: Daddy (by Aselyn Rose)
Age/Birthday: 16/ January 20th
Years At Camp: 1
Appearance: Chase has a good complexion where he's not too pale and not too tanned. He has chocolate brown hair and deep brown eyes. His smile is a little crooked. He stands short but he is well built. He likes to wear hightops, jeans and either tight fitting t-shirts or a check shirt (sometimes even both). Chase has a small scar on his wrist from an accident at school once when he was nine. He does not remember how he got that mark.
Personality: Naturally paternal, Chase is very hard to anger. Given the chance, he will do anything for his daughter's safety. Chase is always protective. Is he sees an injustice, he will jump in and try to save the person. He's very smart and likes everything to be logical. He can be condescending though but he usually never really means to be. It takes a lot to anger Chase. He's usually calm and peaceful. He studies a lot and he enjoys being alone a lot, alone to his thoughts.
God Parent: Lyssa
Mortal Parent: Darren Whitebirch
Powers: When angered, Chase becomes like a rabid animal. He blanks out any conscience and becomes a fearless brute. His pupils dilate and his teeth sharpen. He even starts foaming at the mouth a little. His nails extend into small yet effective claws. He does not remember these short bursts of anger which can last as short as three minutes and as long as four hours. He becomes extremely tired after each attack (how tired he is depends on how long he's in this state. For example, three minutes would mean he's a little tired/sleepy whereas four hours means he'd end up falling asleep as soon as he's out of it and he'd stay asleep for two days straight so four hours may as well be like a coma.)
Fatal Flaw: Chase's fatal flaw is his personal loyalty. To him, he'll do anything for anyone unless it endangers his daughter. In which case, everyone best watch out because Chase could murder you.
Other Flaws: Socially awkward, can not cook very well at all, insomniac, patronizing, paranoid, often arrogant.
Weapons: Sword (CB), a reason to live (metaphorical weapon! Very Happy)
Pets: N/A
Talents/Skills: Tai chi, yoga, meditation, plays guitar and sings, good rhythm.

An Example In Role Play

Chase ran a hand through his hair. He was trembling a little. He hated not being with Aselyn Rose... His little girl... He kept looking back at the road, wishing he wasn't heading away from her. Tears sprung to his eyes and he sighed, turning back and trying to be brave. Aselyn's father needed to be brave... for her sake. Chase looked down at his hands and moved his head down a little to cup his face. He was still shaking.

"It's hard, ain't it?" asked the voice of his cab driver and Chase looked up. "Being away from your family like that."

"Yeah..." Chase said and bit his lip. He couldn't wait to be out of that car. He'd be getting the Gray Sisters cab when he got out. He couldn't let Aselyn see that cab. She might get scared that Daddy was hurt because of the speed the car went. Or worse. She could get hit by the Gray Sisters cab. Chase started to shake a little more violently and looked back at the road, anxious.
